We are seeking an Interim Assistant Director of Public Works on behalf of our Client, the City of Buena Park. This position is temporary, approximately 2-3 months in length. The right candidate may also be considered for the permanent placement.

In this role you will:

-Assist the Director of Public Works/City Engineer with planning, mgmt, and admin of City Yard Ops.
-Establish and implement organizational policies and procedures.
-Monitor policy effectiveness and make revision/recommendations when needed.
-Oversee and administer City service and maintenance contracts.
-Advise Director regarding fleet maintenance, parks, facilities maintenance, streets and utilities.
-Manage operations including potable water production, quality, transmission and distribution, wastewater systems, metering, maintenance, etc.
-Attends and participates in professional group meetings.
-Respond to emergency calls as needed, interact with local, county, state and regional agencies selected to water and sewer operations.
-Serve as City's Chief Water Operator, as designated by the State Water Resources Control Board.
-Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Public Administration, or Water Resources.
-Eight years of progressively responsible public works experience, including water systems.
-Two years experience in a supervisory capacity.
-Valid Class C Driver's License, acceptable driving record and evidence of insurance.
-Valid Water Distribution Operator Grade Level D5 Certificate.
